Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela Romantic Musical Postponed to April 30 2027 Under Anurag Basu Direction The release date for Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela upcoming untitled romantic musical has been pushed to April 30, 2027. Directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Bhushan Kumar, the film was previously slated for earlier windows. Cinema enthusiasts looking forward to witnessing the fresh on-screen pairing of Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela will need to exercise considerable patience. The release schedule for their upcoming untitled romantic musical, directed by Anurag Basu, has been officially postponed once again. According to a formal announcement made by the production team, the movie is now scheduled to arrive in theatres on April 30, 2027. The project has seen multiple scheduling conversations over the past months, but this fresh date finally provides an official window for its theatrical debut. Release Window Rescheduled for the Third Time High expectations have surrounded this project right from its initial development stages. Produced under the banner of Bhushan Kumar and helmed by director Anurag Basu, the musical love story was originally targeted for a premiere in the year 2025. However, production schedules did not materialize in time to make that initial deadline feasible. Speculation then circulated across the industry suggesting that the film might instead arrive on screens in 2026. Setting aside all earlier timeline rumors, the producers have now locked April 30, 2027, as the confirmed theatrical release date. The production house has not detailed the precise operational reasons behind this multi-year postponement, and the official title of the project remains under wraps as well. First Visual Glimpse Reveals Chemistry Between Leads Alongside the calendar confirmation, the makers provided fans with a first visual preview featuring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela from the film. In the released still, a bearded Kartik is captured gazing intensely at Sreeleela, who is shown looking downwards with a reserved expression. The still quickly stirred attention among film lovers curious about the film's tone and mood. This venture marks the very first professional collaboration between Kartik and popular actor Sreeleela. Because narrative elements and character bios have been carefully concealed by the creators, audiences continue to anticipate the formal launch of the title, character posters, and subsequent teaser materials. Clarification Regarding Triptii Dimri Previous Casting Reports During the earlier development phase of the production, reports widely circulated suggesting that Triptii Dimri was in line to portray the female lead opposite Kartik. Speculation heightened when she was ultimately not attached to the project, with some outside commentary attempting to link the development to her on-screen image following the release of the film Animal. Director Anurag Basu stepped forward to firmly dismiss those assumptions. The filmmaker explained that personal image had no role in the decision, emphasizing instead that severe scheduling conflicts were the sole cause. Triptii was already committed to shooting a feature film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, making it impossible to align dates for both projects. Kartik Aaryan Current Work and Recent Recognition On his professional calendar, Kartik Aaryan is presently engaged in the filming of his project titled Naagzilla. The actor is enjoying a significant career phase, having received a National Award for his performance in Chandu Champion. Following the receipt of the prestigious honour, he visited the court of Lalbaugcha Raja to place the accolade at Bappa feet. With the final date for this Anurag Basu musical now locked for April 30, 2027, interest remains high for future announcements detailing the official soundtrack, narrative premise, and promotional rollout. Distributors and theatre operators will structure their long-term release windows accordingly. Why this happened The postponement stems from logistical considerations and production planning, though the producers have refrained from stating an official reason. • Scheduling and Professional Commitments: Conflicting timelines and active production work on other projects likely impacted the schedule. Kartik Aaryan is currently deeply involved in shooting his upcoming feature Naagzilla. • Initial Casting Adjustments: Early shifts in casting required reorganization before regular filming could proceed smoothly. Triptii Dimri was unable to take the role due to overlapping commitments with a Vishal Bhardwaj production. • Production Quality and Musical Focus: A musical directed by Anurag Basu traditionally demands thorough preparation and post-production craft.
