During the shoot of her debut film Uljhan, Sulakshana fell in love with her co-star Sanjeev Kumar. She mustered the courage to propose marriage to him, but Sanjeev Kumar rejected the proposal. That rejection broke her heart completely.\n\nTwo shocks, one after another\nOn November 6, 1985, Sanjeev Kumar died of a heart attack at just 47 years of age. Soon after that devastating blow, Sulakshana's mother also passed away. The two losses, coming one right after the other, shattered her from within, and she slipped into depression. She then decided she would never marry, and withdrew from the film industry for good.\n\nShe died on the same date, decades later\nThe ending of Sulakshana and Sanjeev Kumar's unfinished love story turned out to be as strange as the story itself.
