Two stars who were once counted among Bollywood's most talked-about pairs are back in the spotlight. The occasion was the trailer launch of ‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ where Akshay Kumar offered an interesting response to the ‘flop actor’ dialogue written for his character, and at the same time made a remark about celebrated 1990s actress Raveena Tandon that caught everyone's attention.

In the film's trailer, Akshay Kumar's character is teased by being called a ‘flop actor,’ a detail that had sparked considerable buzz on social media. When the media asked Akshay why the makers had used such words for him, the actor replied with a great deal of poise and good sense.

Akshay said, ‘We are not told that we must use these dialogues to taunt anyone. When you watch a film, I'm fully confident that you are a sensible person. You view the film through the lens of its characters. Don't take it so seriously. It was simply what the film's character demanded.’

In the 1990s, the pairing of Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon stayed in the news not only on screen but in real life as well. There was plenty of talk about their alleged affair too. Now, years later, the two are set to appear together once again in this film. During the event, Akshay also spoke about Raveena.

Akshay shared, ‘I want to say about Raveena that she has always been extremely professional. I still remember, we were shooting a film and the sun was about to set. We had only 25-30 minutes left. The green room was very far away and she had to change her clothes and return immediately, which seemed impossible. But without wasting a single moment, Raveena headed straight to the generator van, quickly changed there, and came back ready for the shot.’

Akshay added that Raveena is a wonderful actress and that dedicated artists like her are rarely found. During the conversation, he also remarked in a light-hearted way how much times have changed. Raveena was once a heroine in films herself, and now she has become the mother of a heroine. Her daughter Rasha Thadani is making a name for herself as a heroine of the new generation.

For the record, this is the third film in the ‘Welcome’ franchise and has been directed by Ahmed Khan. The film will release in cinemas worldwide on 26 June 2026. Besides Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon, this multi-starrer will feature more than 30 actors, including Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez.
