"summary": "Gorakhpur will develop three modern food street hubs at an estimated cost of about Rs 12.99 crore, offering everything from morning walks to evening cultural events in a single location.",
"content": "Gorakhpur, long recognised as the spiritual capital of Purvanchal, is now moving swiftly to remake itself into a fresh hub for food and cultural activity. Three modern food street hubs are to be set up in the city, with a proposed outlay of nearly Rs 12.99 crore. Built under a central government scheme, these hubs will not only promote local cuisine but also open up new opportunities for tourism, employment and small traders.\n\nAccording to the plan drawn up by the Municipal Corporation, the first food street hub will come up between the two gates of Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT). The second hub will be laid out from one end to the other in Pant Park, located right opposite Gorakhpur University. The third and largest food street hub will be developed along the roadside between Padleyganj and Mohaddipur.\n\nRs 5.58 Crore to Be Spent on the Largest Hub\nUnder the project, Rs 4.02 crore will be spent on the MMMUT food street, Rs 3.39 crore on the Pant Park food street and Rs 5.58 crore on the Padleyganj-Mohaddipur food street. A detailed action plan has already been prepared for all three sites.\n\nGorakhpur Did Not Always Look Like This\nSpeaking to Local 18, young residents said that before this food street hub plan, Gorakhpur presented a very different picture. Whether it was Chatori Gali or Nauka Vihar, people had to travel to separate places to eat and to spend their leisure time. All the facilities were simply not available at a single spot.\n\nExcellent Infrastructure Changed the Picture\nYoung people say that better infrastructure over the past few years has completely transformed the look of the city. Now these three new food street hubs will give the city a fresh identity and earn a place among people's favourite spots, where they can enjoy themselves while savouring a variety of dishes.\n\nAccording to Municipal Corporation officials, in the mornings these venues can be used for morning walks and health-related activities. During the day and evening, people will be able to relish local delicacies, while at night folk art, cultural programmes and cultural evenings will be organised.\n\nWhat this means for you\nWhat this means for you:\n\n• Across India: Under this central government scheme, small food vendors and street traders are expected to get organised stalls in one place and more customers, boosting jobs and earnings.\n• In Gorakhpur: People near MMMUT, Pant Park and the Padleyganj-Mohaddipur area will get morning walks, local cuisine and night-time cultural events all at a single location.",
