Internet services have been temporarily suspended within a 4-kilometer circumference of Jantar Mantar to thwart the dissemination of unverified information and maintain public order. Stringent barricades and vehicle checks are underway at every arterial gateway entering Delhi. Public address systems and loudspeakers installed across city intersections are broadcasting continuous alerts notifying citizens that no administrative clearance was granted for the agitation. Law enforcement authorities are reiterating warnings asking individuals not to assemble, raise incendiary slogans, or cause damage to public infrastructure. ## What this means for you Commuting across the capital region has been severely thrown off schedule, requiring travelers to reorganize plans immediately. - **Across India:** With 45 major express and mail trains cancelled, passengers traveling to the capital from western, central, and eastern states face unexpected cancellations. Ticket holders are eligible for standard railway refunds or can seek rebooking on alternate functional trains. - **In Delhi and NCR:** The cancellation of 170 passenger shuttles alongside 45 metro station closures creates significant roadblocks for office commuters. Daily travelers must anticipate delays and switch to road routes where access permits. - **Internet connectivity:** Mobile internet shutoffs across a 4-kilometer zone near Jantar Mantar disrupt app-based cab bookings and digital payments. Residents and shopkeepers in central Delhi must rely on cash and broadband alternatives where accessible. - **Security and commute:** Rigorous vehicle screening at inter-state border crossings will result in persistent vehicular congestion. Commuters headed to hospitals or the airport should depart well ahead of regular schedules. ## Why this happened The sweeping train cancellations and urban restrictions were instituted as precautionary security steps by authorities to prevent law and order breakdowns. - **Planned protest:** Demonstrators had organized a massive agitation at Jantar Mantar on October 10. Law enforcement agencies clarified that no official police permission had been accorded for the gathering, raising concerns about crowd surges. - **Traffic and security advisories:** Anticipating heavy congestion in central Delhi, police issued strict movement advisories. Northern Railway subsequently suspended high volume operations between 04:00 AM and 02:00 PM to deter mass mobilizations into city terminals. - **Preventing rumors:** The 4-kilometer internet moratorium was enforced to curb the potential circulation of provocative material and ensure urban peace. ## Questions & Answers ### 1.
