Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's 79th birthday was marked on 11 June. Supporters and party workers thronged the venue through the day and a feast was arranged for them, while in the evening folk artists and Bhojpuri singers put up cultural performances. The entire event took place at Rabri Devi's official residence at 10 Circular Road. Lalu Prasad Yadav was seen enjoying the programme alongside his wife Rabri Devi, daughter Misa Bharti, other family members, party leaders and workers. However, according to reports, a launda naach was also organised on the occasion, which has now stirred up a controversy.

According to the information that has surfaced, Bhojpuri singer Chhotu Chhalia performed at the programme held on Lalu Yadav's birthday. While Chhotu Chhalia was singing a song dedicated to Lalu Yadav's grandson Iraj, he moved towards Rabri Devi as he sang. Impressed by his performance, Rabri Devi took off the diamond bangle she was wearing and presented it to the singer. This gift from Rabri Devi has also triggered questions and a row.

## JDU Minister's Attack
Janata Dal United leader and Bihar government minister Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha targeted the Lalu family, making an issue of the launda naach held at Lalu's residence and the diamond bangle handed to the singer. Kushwaha said, "This is Lalu Yadav's old habit. He turns men into launda, makes them wear saris and dance. When he was in power in the 1990s, this was his style of working too, so how will there ever be any change in it. He gave away a diamond bangle; he would even hand over the whole kingdom. Where this bangle came from is a matter for investigation. Lalu ji has Rs 950 crore of scam money, and that very money is now being lavished on his grandchildren."

Apart from this, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha also hit back over the question raised by Tejashwi Yadav about the degree of Nishant, the son of Nitish Kumar and a minister in the Bihar government. He said, "Whatever is given in an election affidavit is correct; let Tejashwi first explain how he came down from 75 to 25."
