A fresh political storm has broken out in Bihar after sharply worded posters targeting Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Sunil Singh — a newly elected member of the Legislative Council — appeared on walls across the state capital, Patna. Put up while the Council election process was still underway, the posters sought to put not just Singh but his entire family in the dock.

## What the Posters Say
The posters address Sunil Singh as the 'Natwarlal of Bihar'. One carries a mocking line — 'Congratulations to Bihar's Natwarlal on becoming an MLC'. Another goes further, describing him as the 'ringleader of fraud and plunder' and sarcastically congratulating him on being made an MLC by the Mahagathbandhan. The entire thrust of the posters is to pin allegations of cheating and embezzlement on Singh and his relatives.

## Claims of Embezzlement Worth Lakhs
Those behind the posters backed their charges with specific figures. They claim that an FIR registered against Sunil Singh involves an alleged embezzlement of Rs 16.5 lakh from a woman of the Yadav community. The accusations do not stop there — the posters also mention alleged embezzlement of Rs 23.5 lakh in his wife's name and Rs 3.75 lakh in the name of his son, Yashasvi. On the basis of these claims, the whole family has been targeted. For now, it remains unclear who put up the posters or on whose instructions.

## Candidacy Had Stirred Dissent Within the Party
Controversy around Sunil Singh is not new. When the RJD recently reposed its faith in him once again and fielded him for the Legislative Council election, voices of disagreement rose from within the party itself. Rohini Acharya, daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav, openly expressed her displeasure with the decision. Without naming either Tejashwi Yadav or Sunil Singh, she criticised the party's move through a social media post. Despite all this, Singh managed to be elected an MLC on an RJD ticket for the third time.

## All Nine Candidates Elected Without a Vote
The election process for 9 seats of the Bihar Legislative Council was completed on June 11, but this time no actual polling was required. There were exactly as many candidates in the fray as there were vacant seats, and not a single contestant withdrew his nomination. As a result, all 9 candidates were declared elected unopposed.

Of these 9 seats, 8 went to the ruling NDA, while one went to the RJD. The biggest gainer was the BJP, which bagged 4 seats. From the BJP, Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh, national media co-incharge Sanjay Mayukh, Anil Thakur and Sheela Pandey were elected unopposed as MLCs.
