**Siddipet:** Police in the Siddipet district of Telangana have apprehended a woman and her minor son on charges of murdering two women and hatching a sinister plot to kill four additional people. The accused, residents of Bhumapally, lured their victims to their grocery store, strangled them, and subsequently burned the bodies to eliminate evidence.

## A Chilling Serial Killing Plan
In a deeply disturbing series of events, a married woman teamed up with her minor son to orchestrate a string of murders targeting local women out of greed for money. The breakthrough came after the burnt body of an unidentified woman was discovered on August 8 on the outskirts of Ramakkapet in Dubbak mandal, prompting a rigorous police investigation that ultimately unmasked the mother-son duo.

## Startling Revelations from the Investigation
According to Police Commissioner Rashmi Perumal, Chakaili Rajitha and her son from Bhumapally were responsible for two murders thus far and had assaulted another woman for financial gain. Their active plan involved targeting four more individuals in the near future, but the timely apprehension of this dangerous pair successfully saved those lives. Commissioner Perumal identified the victim found on August 8 as 45-year-old Athikam Vijaya, a resident of Bhumapally.

During the inquiry, investigators learned that Rajitha and her son summoned Vijaya to their grocery store, where they strangled her to death. They then transported the corpse on a TVS moped to Ramakkapet, dumped it, and poured petrol over it before setting it ablaze.

## Unearthing Previous Crimes
The investigation further revealed that the duo had murdered another woman, Kunta Rekha, residing in the 2-BHK colony of Bhumapally in May of this year. Furthermore, in 2025, they targeted a woman named Annapurna who was out for a morning walk on the outskirts of Bhumapally, assaulting her and fleeing with 5 tolas of gold.

## Attempted Murder for Insurance
Police also uncovered that the woman had previously attempted to kill her own husband in a bid to claim insurance money. Commissioner Perumal noted that the pair scouted for vulnerable and unaccompanied women at tea stalls and crowded areas. Following their arrest, the adult accused was presented before a court and remanded, while her minor son was sent to a juvenile home.

Authorities seized 5.61 tolas of gold ornaments, 53 tolas of silver ornaments, a TVS XL moped, one lakh rupees in cash, and two mobile phones from their possession.
