"content": "The Jewar International Airport in Greater Noida, also known as the Noida International Airport, has begun handling flights from today. What makes the launch unusual is the choice of passengers on the very first departure: not VIPs or big businessmen, but the farmers and labourers who handed over their land to make the airport possible.\n\nWho Boards the First Departure\nThe first flight out of Noida Airport will leave for Lucknow at 8:30 AM. On board will be around 170 farmers and workers who gave up their land for the project, including 20 women. After landing in Lucknow, the group will meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to greet and thank him. The flight is scheduled to take off for Lucknow between 7:30 and 7:45 in the morning.\n\nThe Morning Timetable\nThe day opens with an arrival from Lucknow. IndiGo's special flight 6E – 2278 will depart Lucknow at 7:05 AM and touch down on the Jewar runway at 8:05 AM, carrying public representatives, officials and business people from Noida. That same aircraft will then leave for Bengaluru with passengers at 8:35 AM.\n\nCommercial Flights Both Ways\nToday marks the first commercial flight from Noida Airport to Lucknow and from Lucknow to Noida Airport. The domestic carrier IndiGo is the first airline to launch services from the new facility, and it is starting direct flights to Noida from Lucknow.\n\nStarting June 15, Regular Service From July 1\nAccording to officials, commercial flight operations at the Noida International Airport in Jewar are beginning on June 15. As per a state government statement, the inaugural flight will take off from Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 7:05 AM on June 15 and reach Jewar Airport at 8:05 AM. Some farmers and farm labourers from Jewar are expected to travel on this inaugural flight. Regular flights to and from Noida Airport will be available for passengers starting July 1.\n\nWhat this means for you\n• Across India: Travellers in north India gain another major airport near Delhi-NCR, and once regular flights begin on July 1 it will add more options for reaching cities like Lucknow and Bengaluru.\n• In Greater Noida/Jewar: The farmers who gave their land are being honoured on the very first flight, and local residents now get air connectivity close to home instead of relying solely on Delhi airport.",
