A young woman from Azamgarh says the man she believed for years to be a Hindu named 'Sahil' was actually Fazil Ansari, who allegedly hid his real identity, exploited her, and then disappeared with her life savings.

## A Factory Meeting That Turned Into a Trap
According to the woman, the two first met while working at a factory in Himachal Pradesh. The accused first struck up a friendship and then gradually drew her into a relationship, all the while introducing himself as Sahil and presenting himself as a Hindu. It was on the strength of that trust, she alleges, that he entered into a physical relationship with her.

## Kalava, Temple Visits and Puja — The Disguise
Speaking to the media, the woman said the accused lived exactly like a Hindu. He wore a kalava, accompanied her to temples and even performed puja. Keeping up this act, he stayed with her for nearly four years while concealing who he really was. To back her account, she produced before the police photographs showing the accused visiting a temple and a gurudwara.

## Fled With ₹12 Lakh When Pushed to Marry
The woman says that when she began pressing him to marry her, the accused refused. Soon after, he allegedly fled to Moradabad carrying off around ₹12 lakh deposited in her account, along with her mobile phone and a gold chain. She also showed police documents detailing money transfers from his account to hers.

## The Truth Came Out in Moradabad
When she traced him to Moradabad, the woman discovered that 'Sahil' was in fact a Muslim and that his real name was Fazil. She alleges that when she protested, the accused's family bluntly told her that marriage would only happen if she converted. When she refused, she says, she was beaten. According to her, when she insisted on staying, the family members began assaulting her, prompting local villagers to gather around. It was these villagers, she says, who helped her and called the police, allowing her to finally get away and reach the police station.

## One Arrest, Three Still on the Run
Acting on her complaint, police arrested the accused, Sahil alias Fazil, on Friday and sent him to jail. The woman, however, points out that only one accused has been caught so far, while three of his family members are still absconding. She is demanding that Fazil's parents and brother also be jailed, alleging that it was they who pressured her to convert and to offer namaz.

## A Written Settlement Had Been Reached Earlier
The woman says an agreement had previously been drawn up between the two at a police outpost. It stated in writing that both would go to Himachal Pradesh and have a court marriage there. The settlement also noted that if either of them refused to marry, action would be taken against that person, and recorded that both were going of their own free will.
