Kejriwal's Message on X
In his post, Kejriwal referred to Abdul Hamid as a Param Vir Chakra recipient and described him as an immortal warrior. He emphasized that the extraordinary courage Abdul Hamid displayed during the 1965 India-Pakistan war continues to inspire every citizen of the country to stand up for the defense and service of the nation. The post sparked considerable discussion across social media platforms.
Who Was Abdul Hamid
Abdul Hamid was a soldier serving in the 4 Grenadiers regiment of the Indian Army. During the 1965 India-Pakistan war, he displayed unmatched bravery at Asal Uttar in the Khemkaran sector of Punjab. In that fierce engagement, he singlehandedly destroyed multiple enemy tanks, handing the Indian forces a decisive upper hand on the battlefield. He attained martyrdom in the very same battle.
In recognition of his supreme courage and ultimate sacrifice, the Indian government posthumously conferred upon him the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest battlefield honor. The announcement of this award was made on September 16, 1965, less than a week before the conclusion of the war in which he gave his life. This timing alone reflects how unmistakable and immediate the national recognition of his heroism truly was.

The tribute post drew a mixed response from users on social media. Many praised the gesture of honoring a national war hero on his birth anniversary, while several others used the occasion to direct political criticism and pointed questions at Kejriwal.
