TVS Crosses a Million: How the iQube and Orbiter Powered the Brand Past 10 Lakh Electric Scooters

TVS Motor Company has delivered a combined 10,04,148 electric scooters across its iQube and Orbiter models, hitting the 10-lakh retail milestone in under six years.

TVS Motor Company has reached a landmark in India's electric two-wheeler race that the whole industry is now talking about. Its two electric scooters — the iQube and the Orbiter — have together crossed 10 lakh units in retail sales. What makes the number stand out is the timing: the company pulled it off in less than six years of being in the EV business.

Where the journey began

TVS entered the electric space in January 2020 with the launch of the iQube. Since then it has delivered a total of 10,04,148 electric scooters to customers. For most of that stretch the iQube carried the load on its own as the segment leader, while the more recently launched Orbiter added an affordable second option to the line-up.

The pace has picked up sharply in recent months. Through FY26 the company's EV sales have shown consistent, strong growth, and in March 2026 TVS posted a record 38,877 units in a single month. Driving this surge is India's rising appetite for EVs, combined with better range, richer features and dependable performance. Those strengths have placed TVS firmly as the country's second-largest EV maker — a position it could reinforce by rolling out new models in the months ahead.

iQube: the flagship doing the heavy lifting

The iQube is the scooter that first earned TVS its identity in the EV market. Launched in January 2020, the flagship is offered with a range of battery options from 2.2 kWh to 5.3 kWh, giving buyers choices to suit different needs. It delivers an IDC range of up to 94 km, a top speed of 75 kmph and a 4.4 kW motor — a combination that makes it a solid pick for everyday family use.

On the sales chart, the iQube has ticked off one milestone after another. By January 2026 this single model had already moved past 8 lakh units, and its monthly sales frequently land between 30,000 and 40,000 units. Smart touches like a digital cluster, ride modes, reverse assist and generous boot space keep it popular with buyers, which is why the iQube remains the top seller in the electric two-wheeler market.

Orbiter: built for first-time EV buyers

The Orbiter is the newer face in the range, designed specifically for people stepping into electric scooters for the first time. It starts at ₹95,000, undercutting the iQube on price. Buyers can pick between two variants — the V1, which pairs a 1.8 kWh battery with an 86 km range, and the V2, which offers an IDC range of 158 km on a 3.1 kWh battery.

On features, the Orbiter packs a 68 kmph top speed, a 14-inch front wheel, cruise control, hill hold and a 34L boot. A modern design, a stylish look aimed at younger riders and easy handling round off its appeal. Since hitting the market it has been adding to sales quickly, and together with the iQube it is exactly what pushed the company past the 10-lakh mark — extending TVS into an entirely new segment in the process.
