An incident in Gaya district has left everyone who knew the boy shaken, forcing people to wonder whether the child had come to his family only for these few short days. In a horrific road accident in Sherghati of Gaya, a student was badly injured. Arrangements were quickly made to rush him to hospital for treatment, but the ambulance broke down on the way, and during this time the injured student lost his life. The family alleges that the ambulance broke down mid-route while he was being taken to hospital, which delayed his treatment and cost the child his life. The delay caused by the ambulance breaking down is exactly what became the reason for his death.
The case relates to Pakdih village in the Imamganj police station area. The deceased, 12-year-old Ujjwal Kumar, was a sixth-grade student at RPS International School. It is being reported that he was returning home on his bicycle after playing cricket when a tractor loaded with soil struck him hard, leaving him seriously injured. The moment the accident happened, local people rushed to save the injured student and called an ambulance to send him to hospital. The family alleges that the ambulance broke down near Bankebazar, due to which he could not receive timely treatment. Because he did not get treatment in time, Ujjwal died. The incident has sparked enormous anger among villagers, who are demanding action against those responsible. Given the negligence that took an innocent child's life, people are venting their anger at the staff and doctors responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the ambulance.
It may be noted that the deceased child had been living at his maternal aunt's home and studying there for the past 5 years. For now, police have sent the body for post-mortem and have launched an investigation into the entire matter. The allegations about the ambulance breaking down are also being investigated.
