South cinema star Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently in the spotlight for her new film, which hits theatres on 19 June. Busy with its promotions, the actress recently travelled to Chennai for her film 'Maa Inti Bangaram', and it was there that she met her former co-star Joseph Vijay, who is now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Samantha shared pictures from this special meeting on social media and accompanied them with a long, heartfelt message dedicated to Vijay.
The Actress Stuns In A Red Saree
Samantha looked striking in a red saree as she arrived to meet Vijay. Posting the photographs, she showered praise on her old co-star. In her note, Samantha wrote, 'Felt so happy reaching Chennai today. To meet our CM. I always felt Vijay sir was not just meant to be a hero on screen. Watching Vijay's energy, his presence and the way people love him, I always felt he was made for something bigger.'
Applauding The Courage To Start Afresh
In her message, the actress also praised Vijay's decision to leave acting behind and step into the world of politics. Samantha wrote, 'What inspires me the most is the courage it takes to step into a completely new field, and Vijay has that courage. To leave behind something you have already mastered and take on a new challenge is a matter of courage. Not because it is easy, but because you believe you can bring about change.'
A Personality That Inspires Others
Samantha went on to describe Vijay as an inspiring figure. She wrote, 'I think everyone, at some point in life, feels the urge to do something big, but what is needed is to go beyond ourselves and think about how we can contribute. Very few people actually respond to that calling. I feel Vijay sir will surprise even those who already trust him. Not because of the position he holds, but because of the intent with which he works.'
A Message For The Youth And Fan Reactions
Closing her note with good wishes for Vijay, Samantha also left a message for young people. She wrote, 'I wish him strength, wisdom and the courage to stay firm on his path. And for any young person watching this, it can be a reminder that life can be far bigger than the dream you started out with.' Fans, too, poured love on the photos. One user wrote, 'Sam, so happy to see this', while another commented, 'This picture brought a smile to my face, loved it.' One more fan wrote, 'Oh my god, the sweetest post, it truly made my day!!!'
A Pairing Behind Three Blockbusters
Vijay and Samantha sharing the screen is nothing new. Over the past few years, the duo has worked together in three superhit Tamil films. They first appeared together in 'Kaithi' (2014), directed by AR Murugadoss. They were later seen in Atlee's films 'Theri' (2016) and 'Mersal' (2017), both of which proved to be major successes at the box office.
