Shrugging off both age and exhaustion, megastar Amitabh Bachchan has once again shown that his appetite for work — and his devotion to his fans — rivals that of any newcomer. In a recent post on his blog, he offered a glimpse into a single packed day in which he wrapped up 12 short films back to back, squeezing in 2 photoshoots along the way. Yet even after such a punishing schedule, he picked up his pen late into the night to write to the people who follow him.
A Connection That Should Never Stop
For Bachchan, no amount of work is reason enough to break the bond he shares with his admirers. Putting that sentiment into words, he wrote in his blog:
काम तो काम है…काम तो काम है…काम तो काम है…आज 12 शॉर्ट फिल्में शूट कीं, 2 स्टिल शूट किए और अब आप लोगों के लिए काम कर रहा हूं. बिना किसी देरी के जुड़े रहने का यह सिलसिला ही आज का काम है. बाकी सब तो चलता रहेगा. यह नहीं रुकना चाहिए.
In essence, he described the steady, undelayed act of staying connected with fans as the real work of the day — everything else, he suggested, would carry on by itself, but this is the one thing that must not stop.
Big B's Mantra on Preparation
A keen blogger, the actor also used the post to reflect on his approach to work. His message was simple: thorough preparation, study and practice must come before any working day, and one should never compromise with circumstances, whatever they may be. In his characteristic style, he wrote:
पूरी लगन से अध्ययन करना चाहिए. काम वाले दिन से पहले पूरी तैयारी करनी चाहिए और परिस्थितियों या हालात से कभी समझौता नहीं करना चाहिए चाहे एयर कंडीशंड पायजामा ही क्यों न पहन रखा हो.
His Last Outing: 'Vettaiyan' Alongside Rajinikanth
On the film front, audiences last saw Amitabh Bachchan in director TJ Gnanavel's action thriller 'Vettaiyan'. The film featured a strong ensemble alongside him, including Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Abhirami and Ramesh Thilak in key roles. Its story revolves around a senior police officer who accidentally shoots an innocent man during an encounter and then sets out to investigate the murder of a teacher.
An Unforgettable Ashwatthama in 'Kalki 2898 AD'
Before that, the megastar was part of director Nag Ashwin's much-discussed 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani also played important roles in this mythological science-fiction film. Set in a dystopian future in the year 2898 AD, the story unfolds against the backdrop of the city of Kashi, where a group embarks on a mission to protect the unborn child of SUM-80 — a child believed to arrive as 'Kalki', the final avatar of Lord Vishnu. In this film, Bachchan won hearts with his portrayal of Ashwatthama.
