Understanding CM Pratigya Yojana
The government of Bihar has introduced the CM Pratigya Yojana, aimed at connecting local youth with internship and employment opportunities within the industrial sector. Managed by the Department of Youth Employment and Skill Development, this initiative allows candidates to gain practical skills while receiving monthly financial assistance. According to reports seen by TrendKia, the program tailors the financial benefit amount based on the applicant's formal education level.
Launch and Outreach Efforts
Officially launched in September 2025, the program operates through a specialized online portal where both employers and job seekers can register. Planning officials are currently working to scale the scheme across the state. A dedicated camp is scheduled for June 24 in Begusarai, with subsequent drives planned for Munger, Khagaria, and Lakhisarai. Companies list their internship and training vacancies on the portal, allowing candidates to select opportunities that match their profile.
Monthly Stipend Structure in Bihar
According to District Planning Officer Rana Amitesh, youth performing internships within Bihar receive the following monthly financial support:
- ₹4,000 per month for 12th-grade graduates.
- ₹5,000 per month for ITI or diploma holders.
- ₹6,000 per month for graduates.
This assistance is provided for a maximum duration of 12 months. Furthermore, if a candidate moves from their home district to another district for their internship, they receive an additional allowance of ₹2,000 per month for the first three months to cover living expenses.
Higher Aid for Out-of-State Internships
The program offers increased financial support for those choosing to intern with organizations located outside of Bihar:
- ₹9,000 per month for 12th-grade graduates.
- ₹10,000 per month for ITI or diploma holders.
- ₹11,000 per month for graduates or those with higher academic qualifications.
Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify, applicants must be between 18 and 28 years of age. Participating companies must also meet specific criteria, including being at least three years old with an annual turnover exceeding 20 crore rupees. Interested candidates can apply via the official portal or visit their local District Employment Office for registration assistance.
