TrendKia publishes news from India and around the world in Hindi and English. This page explains how we choose stories, how we report them, and the standards we hold ourselves to. If you think we’ve fallen short on any of this, tell us — our Corrections Policy explains how.
Ownership and funding
TrendKia is an independent bilingual (Hindi–English) digital news publisher based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
- Registered address: 1 Viram Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226010, India
- Editorial responsibility: TrendKia Editorial Desk
- Grievance Officer: Ravikash Gupta — complaint@trendkia.com
- Revenue sources: advertising and sponsored content
We have no ownership ties or financial relationships with any political party, government body, or religious organisation. If that ever changes, we will disclose it on this page.
Editorial independence
Our journalism is kept separate from our advertising. No advertiser or sponsor decides what we cover, what angle we take, or whether a story runs. The people who sell advertising have no role in our editorial process.
How we choose stories
We select stories based on:
- Whether it affects our readers’ lives, money, health, rights, or safety
- Whether it is accurate and can be verified
- Whether we can add something not already available elsewhere
We don’t publish something purely because it is trending. Our headlines claim only what the story actually supports — clickbait, missing context, and misleading headlines are against our policy.
Sourcing and attribution
We say where information came from. When our reporting is based on another outlet’s work, a study, a court document, government data, or a press release, we name the source within the story, link to the original wherever possible, and rewrite it in our own words rather than reproducing it.
We prefer primary sources — an official company announcement, a peer-reviewed study, a government website, or a court order — over secondhand accounts on other websites.
We label unverified information as unverified. If we could not independently confirm a claim, the story will say so.
Anonymous sources are used only when the information is in the public interest and cannot be obtained any other way. In those cases we explain why the source requested anonymity.
Fact-checking
Before publication, we check every story for:
- Names, titles, dates, places, and numbers
- Whether each factual claim traces back to a source
- Whether a photo or video actually shows the event it claims to
- Whether quotes are used in their correct context
We apply extra scrutiny to stories involving data, medicine, health, law, and elections, where errors do the most damage.
Use of artificial intelligence
We use artificial-intelligence tools as a core part of how we produce the news. Most of our articles begin as reports from established news sources and agencies; our system rewrites them in our own words and publishes them in both Hindi and English. We use AI for translation, drafting, summarisation, headline suggestions and research.
Our rules are firm:
- Accountability for every published story rests with the TrendKia Editorial Desk.
- AI does not carry out original reporting, conduct interviews, or independently verify facts — it works only from sourced material, which we attribute.
- Reader-submitted stories, photos and video are reviewed by our desk before they are published.
- Some images are generated or enhanced using AI.
Translation: our stories appear in both Hindi and English, with AI assisting the translation between them.
Authors and bylines
Team-produced and automated reports carry the “TrendKia Desk” byline. We do not use invented author names. Stories taken from news agencies carry the agency’s credit.
Verifying citizen journalism
We publish reader-submitted stories, photos, and video only when:
- The sender’s identity and contact details are confirmed
- The date, location, and originality of the photo or video are checked
- At least one independent source confirms the event
We do not publish unverified submissions. Where reader material is used, we credit the contributor — unless they have asked to remain anonymous for safety reasons.
Advertising and sponsored content
- All advertisements are labelled “Advertisement”
- Sponsored articles are labelled “Sponsored Content” and name the sponsor
- Affiliate links are disclosed within the story
- Sponsored content is not written by our editorial team
Conflicts of interest
Our journalists do not cover companies, organisations, or individuals with whom they have a financial or personal relationship. Where such a relationship exists, the story is reassigned or the relationship is disclosed within it. Our journalists do not accept gifts, travel, or payment in exchange for coverage.
When we get it wrong
We correct errors. We do not quietly delete them. The full process is on our Corrections Policy page.
