Neighbors Race to Rescue Family as Blaze Destroys Everything
On Tuesday night in Kurukshetra, neighbors spotted a house in flames and rushed to help. They succeeded in pulling the family and their children out to safety, but there was nothing left to save inside. By the time the fire died down, the family had lost belongings worth an estimated Rs 5 lakh.
A Pattern of Harassment That Police Chose to Ignore
The woman who owns the house has alleged that a man named Sanjay had been troubling her for a long time, insisting that she live with him. She refused each and every time. The family had taken the matter to the police on multiple occasions, but their complaints never led to any action against him.
Tuesday Evening: Family Assaulted, Police Do Nothing
Events escalated on Tuesday evening at around 8:00 PM when Sanjay arrived at the family's home and physically attacked the woman, her husband, and her mother-in-law. The family immediately reported the assault to the police. Officers were informed but chose not to intervene.
At 2 AM, Sanjay Returns and Sets the House on Fire
With no police response to check him, Sanjay came back around 2:00 AM, set the house alight, and fled. The fire gutted everything inside: a refrigerator, an air conditioner, a washing machine, a cooler, a wardrobe, a double bed, a sofa set, and a motorcycle were all reduced to ash. The neighbors' quick action saved the family's lives, but the house and its contents were entirely destroyed.
Family Demands Justice as Police Refuse to Respond
The family is clear in their view that repeated police inaction directly enabled Sanjay to grow bolder until he was willing to assault them and burn down their home. They are now demanding that the accused be held accountable and that justice be delivered. When TrendKia attempted to get a comment from police officials about the incident, they refused to speak.
