A Verdict of Justice
The ADJ Court-2 in Kota has delivered a landmark ruling in a tragic case, sentencing a mother and her lover to life imprisonment for the murder of a 4-year-old girl. The court also imposed a fine of 30,000 rupees on each of the convicts. According to TrendKia, the incident dates back to 2020 and left the entire region in shock. The victim, a child named Nandini, had been seriously injured after falling down the stairs. While the mother and her partner took her to a hospital, doctors advised that she required treatment at a larger facility. However, driven by the desire to avoid medical expenses, the duo conspired to kill the child.
The Conspiracy and Evidence
Police investigations revealed that the couple strangled Nandini to death. Following the murder, they disposed of the child's body in a forest to cover their tracks. They spun various false stories about the child's disappearance, but the police continued their investigation. A crucial breakthrough came when a skull was recovered from the forest. A DNA test confirmed it belonged to Nandini, allowing the police to gather sufficient evidence and apprehend the perpetrators.
Legal Action and Judicial Remarks
The case was registered at the Budhadit police station following a complaint filed by Sumit Yadav, a resident of Borkheda. During the investigation, the Kota rural police arrested the accused woman from Jaipur. Upon interrogation, both the woman and her lover confessed to the crime. TrendKia noted that while delivering the sentence, the court made strong remarks, stating that the mother had disgraced motherhood itself. The court observed that a mother's lap is considered the safest place for a child, yet this woman conspired with her lover to kill her own daughter and discard her body in the forest. The court further emphasized that it is a matter of grave concern for society when children are not even safe with their own mothers.
