Out-of-Control Lorry Triggers Multi-Vehicle Pile-Up on Bengaluru Rural Highway, CCTV Captures the Terrifying Crash

A lorry that lost control on National Highway 648 in Devanahalli taluk first hit a tractor and then slammed into an oncoming Bolero, with the entire crash caught on CCTV. No one died in this pile-up, though a separate accident in Bikaner the same day claimed six lives from a single family.

It looked straight out of a movie action sequence, but this crash played out in real life on National Highway 648, which runs through Bengaluru Rural district. One vehicle after another smashed into each other, throwing the highway into chaos within seconds. The video that has since surfaced shows the entire collision unfolding clearly. The biggest relief, however, was that no one lost their life in the pile-up, with the drivers escaping with only minor injuries.

How the vehicles crashed one after another

The accident happened near Lakshmipura Gate on National Highway 648 in Devanahalli taluk. According to initial information, a lorry travelling from Doddaballapur towards Devanahalli suddenly went out of the driver's control. The out-of-control lorry first rammed into a tractor ahead of it and then veered to the opposite side of the road. As it crossed over, the lorry collided with a Bolero coming from the other direction, dragging several vehicles into the crash in a matter of moments.

The entire crash caught on CCTV

A CCTV camera installed on the highway recorded the whole incident, capturing every moment of the collision on camera. The footage also shows that several other motorists passing nearby had a narrow escape. The drivers of the lorry, the tractor and the Bolero all sustained injuries in the accident, but fortunately their lives were saved.

Case registered at Vishwanathapura police station

The accident took place within the limits of Vishwanathapura police station. As soon as they were informed, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The police have registered a case in the matter and are investigating the causes of the crash.

A separate Bikaner accident wipes out an entire family

While everyone survived in Bengaluru Rural, another road accident in Bikaner, Rajasthan, devastated an entire family. Six members of a single family were killed here, including three young children. The accident occurred near Hemasar Fanta in the Sridungargarh police station area when a car collided head-on with a dumper truck coming from the opposite direction.

According to the police, the people in the car were returning to Haryana after visiting the Jambheshwar temple at Mukam. Additional Superintendent of Police Chakravarti Singh Rathore said there were 7 people travelling in the car. Six of them died on the spot, while a two-year-old girl was seriously injured and has been admitted to hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

The deceased have been identified as car driver Omprakash Bishnoi (50), his wife Sorma Devi (45), their daughter Pramila (30) and Pramila's three children, Ronit (11), Yashvi (10) and Khushi (8). All of them were residents of Fatehabad district in Haryana. Losing so many members of one family in a single instant has left the entire region in shock.
