Akhilesh Fires a Political Salvo on X
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav used the social media platform X to deliver a pointed challenge aimed at the ruling side in Uttar Pradesh. His post called out leaders who had publicly committed to the state's people that the problem of stray cattle would be completely resolved within just 14 days.
The 14-Day Pledge and Its Political Consequences
Akhilesh wrote that once these leaders are confronted with their own 14-day promise, there is every chance they will be politically finished before the next election even arrives. He also added a sharp suggestion: even if they cannot bring themselves to honour their own commitments, they should at least show respect for the guidance of those who are senior to them in the party hierarchy.
The Deeper Message Behind 'Delhi Ki Parchi'
The most cutting part of the post was Akhilesh's reference to the 'parchi' from Delhi, the informal but decisive political endorsement that flows from the BJP's central leadership to its state-level figures. His point was unmistakable: such a directive does not only travel from Delhi to elevate a leader; it can travel just as easily to bring one down. The remark was widely interpreted as a dig at the dependence of Uttar Pradesh's ruling leaders on the goodwill of the national BJP command, with the implicit message that those made by Delhi can equally be unmade by it.
Public Reaction
The post drew a divided response on social media, with one section backing Akhilesh's challenge to the government's unfulfilled record, while another segment countered that stray cattle had remained a persistent problem in Uttar Pradesh even during his own time as Chief Minister of the state.
