In a recent social media update shared on Truth Social and seen by TrendKia, Donald Trump highlighted extensive beautification works in Washington, D.C. while calling out ongoing security and vandalism issues at one of the capital's most prominent landmarks.
Capital Beautification and Security Upgrades
According to the post, significant efforts have been made to restore the aesthetic appeal of the nation's capital. Donald Trump claimed that over 45 monuments and memorials, 28 statues, and 22 fountains have been cleaned, renovated, and beautified. He asserted that Washington, D.C. is looking highly impressive, contrasting its current state with the period when he first took office. He noted that crime was rampant at the start of his presidency, but the city has now been transformed into one of the safest urban areas anywhere in the United States.
Vandalism Allegations at the Reflecting Pool
Despite these improvements, Donald Trump pointed out severe issues regarding vandalism at the Reflecting Pool, which is positioned between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. He stated that individuals destroyed the grass surrounding the pool approximately three days ago and made deliberate attempts to damage the newly installed interior surface. The post compared these actions to previous incidents at the National Mall, suggesting that similar chemical substances were deployed in the Reflecting Pool to deface the completed restoration work.
Accusations Against ABC Reporter and Opposition
The social media post explicitly targeted ABC reporter Jonathan Karl, accusing him of participating in the disruption. Donald Trump claimed the reporter was observed inserting his hand into the pool in an attempt to tear the rubber lining off the surface. Commenting on the political aspect of the incident, he blamed the damage on radical left-wing elements, specifically pointing toward political opponents whom he described as "Dumocats" who seek to damage the nation.
Providing an update on the restoration, Donald Trump shared that 75% of the algae in the pool has been cleared, and the damage remains confined to a minor area. Repairs are scheduled to begin early next week to completely resolve the situation. He concluded by stating that law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the vandalism to bring a swift resolution to the matter.
