Kejriwal's Social Media Attack
Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal has gone on the offensive against a rival outfit through a post on the social media platform X. He referred to the party he was targeting as the “ED party” and raised pointed questions over a large donation it received in Punjab.
Two MLAs and a Rs 60 Crore Haul
According to Kejriwal, the “ED party” holds only two MLA seats in Punjab. Despite that, he said, it collected 60 crore rupees in donations from the state's traders and industrialists last year. His implied question was simple, how did a party with just two legislators end up with such a large sum.
Ruling AAP Got Only Rs 70 Lakh
In the same post, Kejriwal drew a sharp comparison. He pointed out that AAP runs the government in Punjab, yet his party received just 70 lakh rupees in donations in the state. In other words, despite being in power, AAP took in far less than a two-seat rival.
The Extortion Allegation
Using these figures, Kejriwal asked why the people of Punjab would hand donations to the “ED party” at all. Answering his own question, he claimed the money was never really a donation but extortion, suggesting the cash had been squeezed out of traders and industrialists under pressure.
Public Reaction
The post quickly drew a wave of responses. Many users backed Kejriwal's extortion charge and echoed his claim that businessmen were being pressured, while others turned the question around and attacked AAP's own record and leaders. On balance, the post kept the conversation alive with both support and criticism.
