Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has used the social media platform X to argue that a country's security and strategic strength are the starting point for its development. In his message he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and framed the past 12 years as a major leap forward for India on the security front.
What the post said
The Chief Minister's core point was that only a secure nation can become a prosperous and developed one. He stressed that under Modi's leadership India has scaled new heights in defence and strategic capability over the last 12 years. In his own words, the message read:
A 'Safe India' is the foundation stone of a 'Developed India'. The examples he cited
To back his argument, the Chief Minister pointed to three military actions, namely the surgical strike, the Balakot air strike and Operation Sindoor. According to him, these examples show that India no longer hesitates when it has to respond to threats, and that the country's grip on security matters is firmer than before.
Public reaction
Reactions to the post were divided. Some users agreed with the idea that security is the base on which development is built, while others questioned the government's claims. At the same time, a large number of competitive exam aspirants used the comments to raise a separate grievance, complaining that the UPSSSC Lower PCS recruitment application portal had not been working properly for several days and was showing a server error. They asked the Chief Minister to take note and to extend the 18 June application deadline.
