The wait is finally winding down for the moment fans have been anticipating — Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna sharing the screen once again, this time squaring off against each other inside a courtroom. Their film 'Ikka' is now set to arrive on the digital screen, and the suspense around its release has officially been put to rest.
When and Where to Watch 'Ikka'
The suspense-thriller courtroom drama will stream on Netflix. The makers had already hinted that the film would reach digital audiences in July, and Netflix has now made it official. The premiere is set for 10 July.
Sharing a fresh poster, Netflix India (@netflix_in) confirmed the date, pairing the announcement with a punchy caption written in Sunny Deol's signature style.
'तारीख आ गई है. कानून के खेल में इक्का जल्द उतरेगा. देखिए इक्का, 10 जुलाई से, सिर्फ नेटफ्लिक्स पर.'
It was the teaser, dropped a while ago, that first sent viewer excitement soaring. Fans had been counting down ever since, and with the release date now locked in, that anticipation is about to be rewarded.
Sunny Deol's First Step Into OTT
'Ikka' is notable for another reason too: it marks Sunny Deol's digital debut. The film is produced under the Alchemy Films banner. After a long gap, Sunny Deol returns to the familiar setting of the courtroom, where his trademark thundering voice and forceful screen presence are ready to make their mark once again.
According to the makers, the film is not confined to legal arguments and courtroom drama alone. It probes the finer nuances of justice and the real cost of the choices we make — which is why it is being pitched as a film worth watching with the whole family.
Together Again After 29 Years — But on Opposite Sides
The most intriguing aspect of the project is that Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna are sharing the screen after a full 29 years. The two actors were last seen together in the 1997 film 'Border'. This time, though, the equation is flipped — 'Ikka' pits them against each other in a sharp battle of wits and strategy inside the courtroom.
Tilotama Shome and Dia Mirza also appear in key roles in the film. 'Ikka' has been directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra.
