Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, spoke candidly about the difficulties facing the opposition camp at a recently held meeting of the INDIA alliance. During the same gathering he took direct aim at partner parties such as the Samajwadi Party, TMC and RJD, accusing them of living under an illusion. Rahul Gandhi also remarked at the meeting that his role was to swallow poison much like Lord Shiva.
Congress's Organisation Is Fundamentally Different From Other Parties
Addressing the allied parties at the meeting, Rahul Gandhi said- "It is not my job to respond to whatever was said about the Congress party today. My job is to drink it all in, in keeping with the Shaivite tradition. The idea of Neelkanth (Shiva), who consumes all the poison. Whatever else you wish to say, whatever criticism you want to direct at me or at the Congress party, we will accept it- and accept it gladly, with a smile on our faces. That is because our role is different. Our role is to bring all of you together with love and affection." Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress party's organisation is fundamentally different from every other party in India, because it began as a resistance movement at a time when modern India did not even exist.
SP, TMC, RJD and Others Are Living in an Illusion- Rahul
Rahul Gandhi said- "It pains me to say that there is an illusion within this group. The illusion is that you- SP, TMC, RJD and so on- believe that the political methods you have used so far will continue to work in the future. Those methods worked only as long as the Indian state gave them a fair and level playing field. That environment no longer exists." During the same address, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of taking control of institutions. He went on to say- I have many friends in the TMC. They were convinced they would win a big victory in the election. I kept telling them: you are living in a fantasy world. And yet many of them still refuse to believe it.
Congress Was Not the Reason Nitish Kumar Left- Rahul
At the INDIA alliance meeting, Rahul Gandhi told the partner parties- "I have no interest in fighting with you. If I suddenly stood up and said I was going to fight with you, I would simply be called mad- because you are our allies, you are our friends, you are the people we love. We did not lose the 2024 election. You ask why Nitish ji left; the reason was not me, nor was it the Congress. In the end, I feel that a hint of despair often creeps into our conversations. People start thinking: oh God, how will we ever defeat the BJP? Let me tell you, if we unite and take them on, they are easy to defeat."
