An account tied to the ancient Banaude Mahadev temple in Una district has become the talk of the entire region, drawing fresh attention to faith and belief. Lovely, a devotee from Hoshiarpur in Punjab, and his family claim that shortly after he prayed at the temple and applied Mahadev's vibhuti to his eye, the vision returned to the eye that had been impaired for a long time.
How the family reached the temple
According to the family, Lovely and his relatives were on their way back after visiting Baba Balak Nath. While returning, they decided to also stop and bow their heads at the ancient Banaude Mahadev temple located at Chatara in Una district. On reaching the temple, Lovely bowed before Lord Shiva and applied the sacred vibhuti available there to his eye.
The March incident that changed everything
The family says Lovely suffered a brain hemorrhage on 3 March 2025. After that, the vision in one of his eyes was affected. Treatment continued for a long stretch, but there was no notable improvement in his condition. During an examination at PGI last month, doctors told the family that a cluster of nerves had formed in front of the eye and that the chances of the vision returning were next to none.
The family's claim and an emotional moment
Lovely and his relatives say that within a short while of having darshan at the Banaude Mahadev temple and applying the vibhuti, he began to see through that eye. The unexpected change left the entire family deeply emotional, and they described it as a special blessing from Lord Shiva. Coming after doctors had all but ruled out recovery, the family links the experience directly to Mahadev's grace.
A return visit to give thanks
Following the experience, the family went back to the temple once more, sought the blessings of Lord Shiva and expressed their gratitude. As word spread through the area, the episode became a subject of wide discussion among devotees visiting the temple, with large numbers of people viewing the entire incident through the lens of faith and miracle.
Medical confirmation still awaited
That said, there has so far been no medical confirmation of the claim. Even so, Lovely and his family firmly regard it as the grace of Banaude Mahadev and are thanking Lord Shiva, while devotees across the region continue to connect the incident to their own beliefs.
