In Hajipur, Bihar, a young man was shot in the chest by his own friend who had invited him to a birthday party. Police suspect the shooting stems from a love triangle, and the seriously injured victim has been referred to PMCH for treatment.
Friends were riding to the party when the attack happened
Shubham Kumar, 18, from Yusufpur, had been invited to a birthday party by his friend Anshu Kumar. The two set off together on a single motorcycle. When they reached the Diyara area, about two kilometres from the DRCC office, Anshu stopped the bike. According to the complaint, he suddenly pulled out a pistol during a conversation and fired at Shubham's chest before fleeing the scene. Shubham collapsed in pain at the spot.
Injured teen walked to the village for help
Despite the gunshot wound, Shubham did not give up. He walked on foot to the village and sought help from local residents. Seeing him bleeding heavily, villagers immediately alerted the police. Officers from Ganga Bridge police station rushed to the spot and took Shubham to Sadar Hospital for treatment. Given the seriousness of his condition, he was referred to PMCH for better medical care.
Investigation points to both liking the same girl
Sadar SDPO-1 Subodh Kumar said the investigation revealed that both Shubham and the accused Anshu were interested in the same girl. This love triangle currently appears to be the main reason behind the shooting, and police are pursuing the case from that angle.
Crime scene examined, raids underway to nab the accused
A police team inspected the spot where Shubham was shot. Raids are continuously being conducted in nearby areas to arrest Anshu. Police are also questioning family members of both young men to piece together the complete sequence of events.
