A Journey from Gaya to Mumbai
Rajesh Kumar, a native of Barma village in the Gaya district of Bihar, has carved out a successful path in the entertainment industry. His passion for performance began early, with his first acting experience occurring during his nursery school days in Gaya. Following his education, he moved to Mumbai, where he faced significant early hurdles, including visiting the homes of numerous directors in search of work. His breakthrough eventually came with the popular serial 'एक महल हो सपनों का'.
Acting Career and Milestones
Throughout his career, Rajesh Kumar has appeared in notable television series such as 'कुसुम', 'साराभाई बनाम साराभाई', 'घर एक मंदिर', 'कोटा फैक्ट्री', and 'खिचड़ी'. On the big screen, he has acted in over a dozen films including 'जवानी तो इश्क होना है', 'सैयारा', 'हड्डी', 'सुपर नानी', and 'स्टूडेंट ऑफ़ द ईयर 2'. While he recently launched the film 'जवानी तो इश्क होना है', he has several more projects slated for release this year. Despite a difficult period where he considered quitting the industry due to mounting debt, he successfully navigated those challenges and continued his career. He is currently working on an upcoming film alongside Pankaj Tripathi.
The Farming Initiative
Despite his fame, Rajesh Kumar maintains a strong connection to his village, returning to Barma two to three times a year. He is now spearheading an agricultural project aimed at uniting farmers from four to five neighboring villages to revitalize local farming. His sisters, who were previously working stable jobs in Finland and the United States, are now returning home to assist with this venture. Rajesh Kumar noted that his father had originally named him Rajesh Khanna to avoid the caste-based tensions prevalent in Bihar at the time, though he is now known as Rajesh Kumar.
