She Walked Away From a 25-Year Design Career to Farm in Her Village, and Built a Brand That Now Employs 15 People

Jamshedpur's Sulochana Budhia left a 25-year career in interior design to grow exotic crops on 6 acres in Mesra village, building the 'Naturish' brand and providing direct work to around 15 people.

Sulochana Budhia, who hails from Jamshedpur, has turned her own life into an answer to a question many of us carry quietly, what does success really mean. Most people treat a fat salary, a big business and rising income as life's biggest achievement, and spend years chasing exactly that. Sulochana reached all of those milestones too, yet she ultimately chose a very different path, one that led her toward peace of mind, contentment and the lap of nature.

Two Decades of a Shining Career

For nearly 25 years, Sulochana worked as a successful interior designer. Over that long stretch she handled several big and prestigious projects and carved out a distinct identity on the strength of her skill. As her professional responsibilities kept growing, her life became completely consumed by work. She had the recognition, the reputation and the financial security, and yet something still felt missing.

The Pandemic That Changed Her Outlook

The turning point arrived during COVID-19. When she returned to her village, she finally got the chance to slow down and live close to nature. The calm surroundings, the greenery stretching all around and the sheer simplicity of village life appealed to her so deeply that she decided to redirect her entire course. In place of the rush of city life, the fields and the soil had begun to pull her in.

Rare Crops Across 6 Acres

On her roughly 6 acres of land in Mesra village in Jharkhand, she began cultivating exotic fruits, vegetables and herbs. At first the idea was simply to find calm and personal satisfaction, but over time the pursuit grew into a thriving enterprise. Today her farm produces several varieties of rare, high-quality products that are in demand not just within the country but in international markets too. Her commitment to natural and organic farming is exactly what has set her apart.

The 'Naturish' Brand and Its Standout Products

On the back of her hard work and experience, Sulochana also built her own brand under the name 'Naturish'. A wide range of natural and health-focused products are made under this label. They include Govind Bhog rice, Basmati rice, Black Rice, Rosemary, Thyme, raw turmeric, Moringa and exotic herbs like Oregano. Customers have been particularly drawn to the purity and quality of these products.

From Jams to Herbal Teas

Among the products made under the brand, Mulberry jam and a three-fruit jam are also very popular. The three-fruit jam blends guava, star fruit and one special surprise fruit. Alongside these, items such as sun-dried tomato, onion and garlic are prepared as well. The herbs she grows are turned into pesto sauce, whose demand keeps climbing. When it comes to herbal teas, she offers around 12 varieties made from Hibiscus, Black Pea and several other natural ingredients. The brand also makes Oregano spice, premixes and fruit millets, products that can be used easily by simply mixing them into water.

Not Just a Business, but a Boost for the Community

The most heartening part of Sulochana's story is that she is not only growing her own venture, she is helping the people around her move forward as well. Thanks to her effort, around 15 people now have direct employment. Her journey stands as proof that when a person listens to their inner voice and acts on it, they can find contentment along with success. Sulochana Budhia has shown that the real joy of life lies not merely in earning money, but in finding peace and satisfaction in the work you do.
