A significant fire erupted at a hotel construction site near the Shilpgram parking area, close to the Taj Mahal in Agra, leading to widespread panic. The flames were so intense that a large plume of black smoke was visible in the sky from a considerable distance, causing distress among local residents and tourists.
Fire Erupts at Construction Site
According to police reports, the incident occurred in the Tajganj police station area of Agra. A new hotel has been under construction near Shilpgram parking for some time. On Friday, while laborers were engaged in their work, a fire suddenly broke out in one section of the building, possibly due to a short circuit or another technical issue.
Security and Rescue Operations
Given the proximity to the Taj Mahal and the constant presence of tourists and security personnel, authorities were alerted immediately. Upon receiving the information, the Tajganj police force and fire brigade vehicles swiftly arrived at the scene.
Firefighters are engaged in strenuous efforts, using powerful water jets to bring the blaze under control. As a precautionary measure and to facilitate rescue operations without any obstruction, the police have temporarily blocked the roads surrounding the Shilpgram parking area. Efforts to completely extinguish the fire are ongoing.
