Brazen Attack in Fatehpur
A disturbing incident unfolded in the Shadipur neighborhood of the Sadar Kotwali area in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, on June 20. At approximately 3:00 PM, a group of 8 to 10 individuals riding motorcycles suddenly targeted a man named Gaurav Singh. According to TrendKia, the assailants attacked Gaurav Singh with bricks and stones while hurling abuses and issuing death threats, creating an atmosphere of panic in the locality.
Intervention by Local Shopkeepers
The daytime attack caused chaos among pedestrians and residents. Local shopkeepers intervened in the confrontation, forcing the attackers to flee the scene. The entire sequence of the assault and the movements of the suspects were captured on nearby CCTV cameras, and the footage has since gone viral across social media platforms.
Rooted in Past Animosity
Gaurav Singh stated that the assault is linked to a long-standing personal dispute. He explained that there had been a disagreement between them 7 to 8 months ago, which had also resulted in a legal case being filed at the time. Gaurav Singh noted that since that period, he had maintained no contact with the individuals involved, yet they had attempted similar attacks involving bricks and stones on three or four separate occasions previously.
Police Investigation Underway
The Sadar Kotwali police responded to the incident and have launched an investigation. Officials confirmed that they are currently analyzing the viral video and CCTV evidence to identify the suspects. Authorities have assured that legal action will be taken against the accused upon receiving a formal complaint. Meanwhile, local residents have demanded stricter security measures in the area and the immediate apprehension of the attackers.
