World Leaders Hail US-Iran Peace Deal as Qatar, Turkey, UK, Germany and France Welcome the Breakthrough

Leaders from Qatar, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Germany and France have welcomed the peace agreement struck between the United States and Iran. The deal is set to be signed in Switzerland on June 19, raising hopes that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen.

A peace agreement between the United States and Iran has brought a wave of relief across the globe after a long and damaging standoff. The conflict had dragged on for more than 100 days, and even after a ceasefire took hold, the Strait of Hormuz stayed shut — inflicting heavy economic losses on countries across West Asia. With the new deal, hopes are now high that this vital shipping route will reopen, restoring stability to the region and easing the financial strain.

A Chorus of Approval From Major Capitals

The diplomatic achievement drew praise from Qatar, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Germany and France. Leaders of all these nations urged every party to put the agreement fully into practice and to keep working, through dialogue, toward a durable peace.

Qatar: Hopes Pinned on Future Talks

Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani warmly welcomed the deal. Posting on X, he said, "We welcome the agreement reached on the memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran," adding that Qatar hopes future negotiations will be conducted in a "positive and constructive spirit." Qatar's foreign ministry called the accord an important step toward strengthening lasting peace at the regional and international level and boosting economic growth.

Turkey: A Word of Caution Against Provocations

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised the development as a significant move toward establishing peace and stability in the region. "I sincerely hope that this news, which the whole world has long awaited, will pave the way for a lasting environment of peace and security in our region," he said. Erdogan also warned against any provocations and thanked Qatar and Saudi Arabia for their help in the diplomatic effort.

UK: Ready to Back Maritime Security

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the agreement as a hugely important step toward ending the war, securing regional stability and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. "I congratulate President Trump and the mediators from Pakistan, Qatar and other countries who contributed to this success," he said. Starmer stressed the need for full implementation of the memorandum and reiterated that Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons. He added that the United Kingdom stands ready to support technical talks and maritime security efforts in coordination with international partners — including mine-clearing operations at sea.

Germany: A Boost for the Global Economy

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz welcomed the deal, calling it a diplomatic accomplishment with major global implications. "I welcome the agreement reached between the United States and Iran and congratulate President Trump and the Iranian side on this diplomatic success. This can pave the way to reviving the global economy and making the Middle East more secure," he wrote.

France: Reopen Hormuz Immediately and Unconditionally

French President Emmanuel Macron called for the agreement to be implemented swiftly and underlined the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz without any restrictions. "This agreement should help reopen the Strait of Hormuz immediately and unconditionally," he said. Macron noted that France and the United Kingdom are prepared to support international efforts to restore maritime traffic. He added that the deal should open the door to broader negotiations addressing Iran's nuclear and ballistic programmes as well as regional security concerns.

Signing Set for June 19 in Switzerland

US President Donald Trump revealed on Truth Social that the peace agreement between the United States and Iran was complete and would be signed in Switzerland on June 19. "The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is done. Congratulations to all! Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!" Trump wrote. So far, however, no formal reaction has come from the Iranian side.
