Motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield achieved its highest-ever monthly sales volume in September 2026, delivering a total of 1,33,958 units worldwide. This performance reflects an 8 percent increase compared to the 1,24,328 motorcycles sold during the same month in 2025, driven by strong customer demand across domestic and international channels.
Breakdown of Domestic Deliveries and International Shipments
In the Indian domestic market, the company registered dispatches of 1,21,326 motorcycles throughout the month. This represents a 7 percent annual improvement compared to the 1,13,573 units recorded in September 2025. International export volumes also saw notable momentum, jumping 17 percent to 12,632 units in September 2026, up from 10,755 units shipped during September of the previous year.
First-Half Fiscal Performance Surges 20 Percent
The Chennai-based manufacturer sustained robust growth across the first half of fiscal year 2027, covering the period from April to September 2026. Cumulative deliveries reached 7,09,096 motorcycles, marking a 20 percent expansion over the 5,91,903 units sold during the corresponding half-year period in fiscal 2026. Domestic demand served as the primary growth driver during this timeframe, climbing 23 percent to 6,42,021 units. In contrast, overall exports for the six-month period totaled 67,075 units, reflecting a 5 percent contraction.
Himalayan 440 Demand Triggers Temporary Order Pause
The company's strong monthly volume coincides with peak festive inventory build-up and the recent introduction of the Himalayan 440. Officially launched at the Himalayan Basecamp in Ladakh during September, the motorcycle features a 443 cc long-stroke engine coupled with a 6-speed gearbox. Initial consumer interest significantly outpaced manufacturer forecasts, leading to allocations being completely booked out for six months and prompting a temporary halt on new customer reservations.
New Classic 350 Signature White Edition Introduced
To further bolster its retail offerings ahead of key shopping weeks, the brand also debuted the Classic 350 Signature White variant. This iteration incorporates several comfort and functional upgrades, including premium seating, an assist and slipper clutch, and adjustable control levers. Additional onboard equipment includes a USB Type-C fast-charging outlet and the proprietary Tripper pod navigation unit.
