A remark from Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, left Rani so upset that she put out a video on social media directly calling him out, comparing the situation to characters from the Ramayana.

During the reality show Bhojpuri Bawaal, Rani Chatterjee had gone on to support actress Kajal Raghwani. While there, Rani advised Kajal to speak up openly against everyone rather than stay silent. Hitting back, Rani said, "Everyone here is Ram, everyone is Sita incarnate, and yes, I am Manthara." She added that she was willing to accept being called Manthara, but that Nirahua should first be certain that he truly was Ram, and that the actresses sitting below the stage laughing along were really as pure as Sita. Her tone made it clear she was in no mood to take the comment lightly.
Rani explains why she joined the show
Rani also clarified in the video that she was never a contestant on Bhojpuri Bawaal. She said she was initially called in for just one episode, purely to support Kajal Raghwani. The makers later approached her for a few more episodes, after which she appeared and simply said what she felt was right. She pointed out that the actual contestants were everyone else on the show, not her.
She went on to speak candidly about her career, saying she has never been afraid of being dropped from a film and has always worked purely on her own merit. According to Rani, whether she works in the future or not will be entirely her own choice, and she stands in the industry on the strength of her work, not because of any actor, director or producer. Taking a dig at Nirahua, she said that if he considers himself Ram, she has no objection to being called Manthara, but she hadn't expected him to be so upset upon seeing his own reality reflected back at him.

While sharing the video, Rani Chatterjee also aimed a sharp caption at Nirahua. She wrote that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others'. Rani referred to Dinesh Lal Yadav as 'Shakuni Mama' and called herself 'Manthara', adding sarcastically that everyone around seemed to be posing as saints.
