After Split From Urmila Matondkar, Mohsin Akhtar Ties the Knot Again — Wedding Pictures With Nidha Bhatt Go Viral

Mohsin Akhtar, the former husband of Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar, has married Nidha Bhatt and shared emotional photos from the nikah on Instagram.

Mohsin Akhtar, the former husband of Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar, has opened a fresh chapter in his life. Taking to social media, he announced that he has married for the second time. Sharing pictures from the nikah on Instagram, Mohsin revealed that he has tied the knot with Nidha Bhatt. His relationship with Urmila came to an end only last year, and he has now chosen a new beginning for himself.

The Wedding Photos That Caught Everyone's Eye

After parting ways with Urmila, Mohsin offered fans a glimpse into his second nikah. Expressing his love for his wife Nidha Bhatt, he described the occasion as a beautiful new start in his life. In the photographs, Mohsin looks every bit the dashing groom in a white sherwani, while bride Nidha looks stunning in a gorgeous golden-and-ivory sharara.

The chemistry between the two is hard to miss. One picture in particular is doing the rounds online, in which Mohsin, down on his knees, slips a ring onto his bride's finger in a deeply romantic gesture — a moment fans have absolutely loved.

Love and Gratitude in the Caption

In the caption of his post, Mohsin wrote, ‘Clean intentions, true love and the fruit of patience are always sweet. Keep your soul pure and trust in Allah's decisions, because what He writes is always the best. When the right time came, Allah blessed me with your simplicity and truthfulness. Thank you for bringing light into my life.’

Remembering his late mother, he went on to write, ‘Thank you, Ammi, for watching over me from up above. I know all of this is the result of your prayers and love. I am sure you are at peace today. I miss you every moment. Keep us in your prayers.’

When and How the Marriage With Urmila Ended

Reports of a rift between Urmila Matondkar and Mohsin Akhtar first made headlines in 2024. In September of that year, sources reported that Urmila had filed for divorce in a Mumbai court. The couple had married on 4 February 2016 in a private ceremony.

Their wedding had been much talked about at the time — not only because the two came from different religions, but also because there was a 10-year age gap between them. After spending nearly a decade together, however, cracks appeared in the relationship.

Kashmir Roots and a First Meeting Linked to Manish Malhotra

Mohsin, a businessman and model with roots in Kashmir, first met Urmila in 2014. The two crossed paths at the wedding of designer Manish Malhotra's niece. Interestingly, when they married in 2016, Manish Malhotra was among the select few guests who were part of the low-key nikah. Following the wedding, the couple paid their respects at the Golden Temple in Amritsar and then completed the nikah rituals.
