The government is now extending financial support to install modern support systems in fields, ensuring that these crops receive proper upward structural backing. Under a specialized initiative, the horticulture department has outlined a clear target to establish this support setup across 150 hectares of land.
This modern approach aims to transition farmers away from conventional farming methods toward advanced agricultural practices. According to agricultural authorities, adopting this system will notably enhance both the overall productivity and the grade of the harvest. Department guidelines specify that the financial assistance program is tailored specifically for growers cultivating crops like cucumbers, bottle gourds, ridge gourds, bitter gourds, and round gourds.
Financial Aid Under the Horticulture Mission
The initiative operates directly under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture, commonly known as the National Horticulture Mission. Within this framework, the unit cost for setting up the required support structure has been officially fixed at 20,000 rupees per hectare. Eligible growers will receive a subsidy amounting to 50 percent of this calculated cost, which translates to a maximum grant of 10,000 rupees per hectare.
A notable stipulation of this scheme is the acreage limit placed on individual participants. A single farmer can claim the benefits of this financial assistance for a maximum area of up to two hectares. Furthermore, qualifying individuals receive proportional grant amounts strictly calculated based on their verified operational acreage.
Preventing Ground Spreading and Easing Farm Work
The primary advantage of implementing a structured support system is that it grants climbing vine crops a sturdy vertical pathway for growth. Traditional farming often leaves vines sprawling directly across the soil surface, exposing them to various rots and damages, whereas this system maintains an orderly plant distribution.
