A monumental milestone has been established in Indian domestic cricket. Representing Uttarakhand in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy, batter Prema Rawat etched her name into the history books by recording the fastest half-century ever seen in women's T20 cricket. Playing against Hyderabad at the MCA Cricket Stadium in Pune, she took the opposition attack apart to reach her fifty in just 14 deliveries.
Dominant Striking and Boundary Blitz in Pune
Walking in at number four, Rawat seized immediate control of the innings without offering the bowlers any breathing room. Her blistering knock of 50 runs came off just 14 balls and was powered by 6 boundaries and 4 towering sixes. Nearly her entire innings was built on boundary hits, accumulating 48 of her 50 runs in boundaries alone while operating at a staggering strike rate of 357.
Fatima Sana's Record Eclipsed in T20 Ledger
With this extraordinary blitz, Prema Rawat surpassed the previous benchmark held by Pakistan's Fatima Sana, who had previously notched a half-century in 15 deliveries. While Fatima Sana continues to hold the record for the fastest fifty in women's T20 international cricket, Rawat now stands alone at the summit across all women's T20 cricket following her breathtaking 14-ball display.
