Investigators arrested the victim's husband, Lalaram Jat, and her son, Hariom Jat, in connection with the crime. According to police findings, the father-son duo strangled Mintu Choudhary to death in May 2025 and dumped her body into a local well to conceal the evidence. The breakthrough came on Wednesday when police recovered human remains from a well situated near the Balkhandi Balaji intersection, prompting an intensive probe into her prolonged disappearance.

Officials revealed that Mintu Choudhary had been missing for an extended period, and roughly seven months ago, her husband lodged a formal missing person report at the local police station. While search operations were continually underway, investigators subsequently received actionable intelligence indicating that the woman had been murdered and her body concealed inside an abandoned well. Acting on this critical tip, law enforcement officers apprehended both the husband and son for detailed interrogation.
Identification from Clothing and Decomposed Remains
On Wednesday, forensic and police teams located the body inside the well near the Balkhandi Balaji crossing. Due to the extended time spent submerged in water, the body was severely decomposed, leaving mostly skeletal fragments that made immediate visual identification extremely difficult. However, family members subsequently confirmed her identity as Mintu Choudhary based on the remnants of clothing found on the body.
