Stand-up comedian Samay Raina's popular online talent show India's Got Latent has landed in fresh controversy after former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan made explosive allegations questioning its authenticity. Taking to social media, Ajaz Khan labeled the format completely scripted and rigged, claiming that the production team fails to respect genuine talent while projecting a misleading image to viewers. The controversy centers around Rajesh Kumar Mishra, a performer from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, who allegedly faced unfair treatment despite delivering a lengthy and successful stage act on the show.
Allegations of Mistreatment Involving Prayagraj Performer Rajesh Mishra
Sharing a video featuring Rajesh Kumar Mishra, Ajaz Khan explained that the artist approached him seeking assistance after receiving no justice from the show's organizers. According to the claims, Rajesh performed on stage for approximately 40 minutes during the taping of Samay Raina's show. Although his act earned him prize money, the production neither officially declared him a winner nor aired the recorded episode. Ajaz questioned the rationale behind withholding the performance from the audience, pointing out that an artist who dedicated his time and craft deserves public visibility rather than being sidelined behind closed doors.
Discrepancies in Prize Money Distribution
Beyond the unreleased episode, Ajaz Khan also scrutinized the financial transparency of India's Got Latent. While the show presents a public image of awarding 1 lakh rupees to winning performers, Ajaz claimed that Rajesh received merely around 35,000 rupees. He explained that when multiple contestants win in an episode, the designated prize purse gets divided among them, drastically reducing the actual payout received by individual artists. Ajaz criticized this approach, arguing that the organizers leverage the show to secure lucrative brand deals under the guise of helping underprivileged individuals and budding performers, while shortchanging the real contributors.
Demands for Answers and Appeals to Authorities
Characterizing the show as entirely fixed, Ajaz Khan argued that the organizers hesitate to showcase authentic grassroots talent on their platform. Confronting Samay Raina and the production team directly, he demanded immediate clarity on why Rajesh's 40-minute segment was omitted from the broadcast schedule and why he was deprived of formal winner recognition despite receiving a cash reward. Ajaz called upon the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and other Hindu organizations to support Rajesh in his pursuit of justice. Furthermore, he appealed directly to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to look into the grievances of the Prayagraj artist and ensure appropriate accountability.
