Following widespread media speculation regarding municipal action on a property belonging to Bollywood star Ajay Devgn in Mumbai, his management team has officially stepped forward to clear the air. Reports had earlier claimed that local civic authorities had demolished a portion of the actor's residential property. However, his representatives have strongly refuted these claims, pointing out that the site facing administrative scrutiny is not his personal dwelling, but rather a separate commercial or rented asset leased out to tenants.
The actor's representatives stated that they have applied for the necessary clearances concerning the property in question through proper channels and remain fully compliant with all municipal guidelines. They added that any required modifications or adjustments requested by the civic body have already been executed in accordance with established rules.
Available records indicate that the property spans approximately 7,802 square feet and is situated within the Kapole Cooperative Housing Society in Mumbai. The ownership of this asset is shared between Ajay Devgn and his mother, Veena Devgn. The K-West ward of the municipal corporation had issued a notice on September 10, 2026, invoking Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act. The notice alleged that unauthorized construction activities were being carried out on the premises without prior sanction. Owners were directed to halt all ongoing work immediately and furnish valid permission documents within 24 hours, alongside a warning that failure to comply would result in demolition at the owners' own risk and expense.
Subsequently, on October 6, civic officials rejected the response submitted by the property owners. The authorities maintained that no documents substantiating the legality of the construction or any sanctioned plans were produced during the proceedings. Consequently, the municipal administration deemed the structure unauthorized and ordered its immediate removal.
