Amid the ongoing turmoil within the Cine and Television Artists Association known as CINTAA, actor Mukesh Rishi has come forward to address the situation following the resignation of eight executive committee members. The recent developments have drawn widespread attention, and Rishi shared his perspective on the internal dynamics that led to this significant fallout within the organization.
Why Tension Began to Build Within the Committee
Rishi explained that as time progressed, a distinct shift occurred in how members perceived the collective path forward. He noted that a sense of unified purpose began to fade within the committee, and members started realizing they were no longer moving in the same direction. In the initial days, the mindset was quite different, centered around welcoming any artist who genuinely wanted to contribute to the welfare of the association.
During the early phase, the framework was kept flexible and straightforward so that artists could step in and play their part regardless of their financial standing. Anyone who approached the committee with a willingness to work found open doors and simple procedures. However, as months passed, the environment shifted, and underlying tensions started to surface over matters that many members found difficult to digest.
The Collective Resignation and Internal Friction
Rishi pointed out that a noticeable lack of willpower and changing dynamics created an increasingly uncomfortable atmosphere. Elaborating with an example, he mentioned situations where removing one individual from a position left someone else without a role as well. Such occurrences prompted serious questions among the members regarding whether it made sense to continue serving on the committee.
Eventually, a consensus emerged among several members that they needed to meet, discuss the situation openly, and arrive at a unified stance. Following these deliberations, the members met, reviewed the circumstances, and collectively signed their resignation letters, clearly stating the reasons behind their departure to ensure complete transparency.
The Stand of CINTAA and External Interference Concerns
The controversy deepened after reports emerged of multiple resignations totaling around eleven members, including eight elected individuals from the executive committee. This sparked widespread speculation about whether the entire governing body had dissolved and how the association would function moving forward. Television actress Upmanyu Singh also stepped forward with allegations accusing President Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure of misusing their official positions.
Meanwhile, CINTAA firmly rejected claims that the executive committee had been dissolved, issuing a public notice stating that certain disgruntled members were attempting to spread confusion. The institution maintained that its union remains fully functional and continues to operate through its elected executive committee. The dispute also drew in the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, with CINTAA asserting that the federation attempted to issue guidelines it had no constitutional authority to enforce over an independent trade union.
