Terror In Shimla's Sanjauli: School Operator Shot Three Times Near The Gate, Attackers Flee In Punjab-Number Car

Manisha Mittal, who ran a private school in Shimla's Sanjauli area, was shot dead near the school gate; police suspect a property dispute and say the attackers fled in a Punjab-registered vehicle.

A brazen daylight killing has shaken Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, after attackers walked into the premises of a private school and gunned down the woman who ran it. As soon as word of the attack spread, police rushed to the spot and the city was thrown into alarm.

Where And When It Happened

The incident took place in the Housing Board Colony of Shimla's Sanjauli area. The attack is reported to have occurred at around 7:30, while the woman was standing near the school gate. The assailants fired three bullets at her one after another, killing her on the spot.

Who The Victim Was

The deceased has been identified as Manisha Mittal, who was the operator of Saraswati Paradise School. The school was run near Bhattakufer, a little below Sanjauli. Moments before she was attacked, she had returned from a shop after buying Maggi and a few other items.

Property Dispute Suspected As Motive

According to early information, the killing is believed to be rooted in a property dispute. Sources say Manisha had been locked in a long-running disagreement with her brother over property, and the investigation is currently focused in that direction.

Attackers Arrived In A Punjab-Number Vehicle

The attackers are said to have arrived in a vehicle bearing a Punjab registration number and fled after carrying out the crime. With the accused on the run, police sealed off the entire Shimla area to stop the suspect vehicle from slipping out of the city.

Police Action

A forensic team has been called to the scene, and footage from CCTV cameras installed nearby is being examined closely. A search operation is under way to track down the suspect vehicle and the accused, and police are probing the case from every angle.
