Loud Music Was the Cover: Inside the Illegal Pistol Factory Running Just 300 Metres From the SP Office in Bhind

A father and son were caught running an illegal country-made pistol factory inside a Bhind home, using blaring music to mask the noise — barely 300 metres from the SP office. Police arrested the pair and seized 10 pistols and three live rounds.

To the neighbours, the music thumping out of the house all day seemed like nothing more than someone's loud taste in songs. But behind that wall of sound sat a secret that stunned the police themselves. Inside that ordinary-looking home in Bhind city, a full-fledged country-made pistol factory was running — and astonishingly, it was operating barely 300 metres from the SP office.

One tip-off, and the whole game unravelled

The police got wind of the hidden factory through an informer. Acting on the tip, a Bhind police team launched a surprise raid on the house. Inside, the music system was blaring at full volume. The moment the officers stepped in, the scene left everyone shocked: a father and his son were busy assembling kattas — crude country-made pistols. The house had been converted into a workshop, with machinery, raw material and finished weapons all in place.

Why the music — the logic behind the noise

The father-son duo's trick lay in deliberately playing songs at high volume. The aim was simple — to drown out the sound of the running machines under the noise of the music, so that no one nearby would suspect what was being built inside. That is precisely why the operation went unnoticed for so long, even with the SP office just steps away.

Sold at 15,000 a piece, reaching other districts

Interrogation revealed that the accused sold each katta for 15,000 rupees. These illegal weapons were slipping easily into the hands of local criminals and even making their way to other districts. In other words, this was not just a manufacturing racket but a full-blown selling operation too.

What was recovered

During the raid, police recovered 10 ready-made pistols and three live rounds from the spot. Along with these, they seized the pistol-making machinery, metal rods, springs and the rest of the equipment. Both the father and the son were caught on the spot, while two other accused managed to flee. Police have intensified their search operations to track down the two who escaped.

New SP's claim — the entire network will be exposed

Newly posted Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Verma cracked down on the factory and its operators soon after taking charge. He assured that the others linked to this gang would be arrested soon as well. "The father and son who have been caught are being interrogated. We will find out how many weapons they have sold so far and to whom they supplied them. The entire network will be exposed," Verma said.

What happens next

The arrested father and son have been brought to the Bhind police station for questioning, and the raids will continue based on the leads they provide. That illegal weapons could be manufactured and sold so easily in a sensitive area like Bhind is a worrying sign in itself. Such factories are not only a threat to law and order but also fuel violence and crime in society. The police action has restored a sense of safety among local residents. Police say strict action will be taken in the case under the Arms Act and other relevant sections.
