Ladli Bahna: 37th Instalment to Be Transferred From Devari Today
The biggest news of the day comes from Sagar district, where Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will release the 37th instalment of the Ladli Bahna scheme from the Devari assembly constituency. The money will land directly in the beneficiaries' bank accounts through a single click. This time, a total of Rs 1,835 crore will be sent to the accounts of 1.25 lakh women.
Beyond the scheme payout, the Chief Minister will also gift the Devari constituency development works worth around Rs 191 crore. Projects related to roads, health, education and water resources will be inaugurated and have their foundation stones laid. There is also speculation that an announcement to rename Devari as 'Devpuri' could be made at the event. This is Mohan Yadav's first visit to Devari since becoming Chief Minister. The programme will be held in the Kesali development block of the Devari constituency, where the district administration has completed its preparations.
Balod: Two Diesel Thieves Arrested With 500 Litres of Fuel
In Balod, Chhattisgarh, police have arrested two accused in a diesel theft case. Both are originally residents of Shajapur district in Madhya Pradesh. Officers recovered about 500 litres of diesel from their possession, stored in 35-litre plastic gallon cans — 14 such containers were seized in all.
The Swift Dzire, Sumo and Scorpio vehicles being used in the thefts have also been impounded. The action followed a steady stream of diesel theft complaints from the Balod police station and several other station areas across the district.
Bhind: Constable Accused of Threatening a Neighbour While Drunk
A case of high-handedness by a police personnel has surfaced in Bhind. The incident is said to have taken place at Dharm Nagar, under the Dehat police station area. Constable Manish Rajoria is accused of threatening a woman living in his neighbourhood while intoxicated. In a video that has gone viral, the accused is seen telling the woman, 'Before any children are born in the family, they'll ask who Manish Rajoria is.'
According to accounts, after a phone call from the constable's wife, the accused arrived in the locality in civil dress along with a few people and began hurling abuses. He allegedly abused the woman living opposite his house. Someone present at the scene quietly recorded the act on video. The victim has filed an application at the police station against both the constable and his wife. The Dehat police summoned both sides, counselled them, and assured the victim that the viral video would be examined and action taken against the accused.
Dindori: BJP Leaders Stage Sit-in Outside Collectorate
In Dindori, BJP leaders held a sit-in outside the collectorate gate late last night. Shahpura MLA Omprakash Dhurve, district president Chamru Singh Netam and state Scheduled Tribe wing president Pankaj Tekam, along with other party office-bearers and workers, had come to meet Collector Anju Pawan Bhadoria and sat down right outside the gate.
The main grievance was that the BJP district president's name was missing from the inauguration plaque. On top of that, the recent transfer list did not work out in favour of the MLA and the district president, leaving the leaders displeased. The anger subsided for now after a meeting with the Collector, though the BJP leaders appeared to avoid sharing the real details of the episode with the media.
Congress's 10-Day Training Camp, Rahul Gandhi to Coach Leaders
The Congress is holding a 10-day training camp for its district presidents from June 21 to 30. Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi will take part and will train the district presidents of the Chhattisgarh Congress. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge will also be involved in coaching the district chiefs. The AICC has issued a letter to all district and city Congress presidents with these instructions.
The camp will place special emphasis on strengthening the organisation, booth management, public outreach, political strategy and preparations for the upcoming elections. As per the directives, AICC secretaries are to stay for the full 10 days and the state leadership for at least five days.
A Packed Schedule for Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai will tour several districts today. At 11 am he will leave Raipur for Janjgir Champa, and at 12 noon he will attend the Satya Nij Naam Satsang Sammelan, where he will lay foundation stones and inaugurate development works. He will then travel from Janjgir to Bilaspur at 1 pm, attending the Sant Shiromani Gadge Jayanti programme at 2 pm for an oath-taking, a felicitation ceremony and a foundation-laying event.
The Chief Minister will return to Nava Raipur by 4 pm. At 4.15 pm he will attend the closing ceremony of the 36th National Sub Junior and Junior Kayaking Canoeing event, and at 5 pm he will join a book launch programme.
