Three Young Lives Lost in Seoni as Runaway Dumper Mows Down Villagers Resting Outside Home

An out-of-control dumper truck crushed four people sitting outside a house in Sarrahirri village of Madhya Pradesh's Seoni district, killing three youths on the spot and critically injuring one.

A single moment of recklessness tore apart three families in a quiet corner of Madhya Pradesh. On Saturday afternoon, the village of Sarrahirri, under the Kurai police station limits in Seoni district, witnessed a tragedy that left the entire area in shock. Villagers who were calmly sitting and chatting outside a home were, in an instant, run over by a dumper truck that had spun out of control.

How an Ordinary Afternoon Turned to Grief

When the accident happened, a few residents of Sarrahirri were sitting outside a house, talking among themselves. At that very moment, a dumper heading from Sarrahirri towards Piparwani suddenly went out of the driver's control. The speeding heavy vehicle veered off the road and ploughed straight into the people seated there. Such was its momentum that, after crushing the group, the dumper went on to smash into a nearby house.

Three Killed on the Spot, One Referred to Nagpur

In this devastating crash, Sukhmal Bhalavi, Ranjit Saryam and Sandeep Marskole died right at the scene. The fourth victim, Chandrabhan Verma, was critically injured. Locals rushed him to a hospital without delay, where, after first aid, his serious condition prompted doctors to refer him to Nagpur.

Panic at the Scene

Eyewitnesses say the impact was so loud and forceful that people in the vicinity were gripped by terror, and chaos broke out for a while. Once they recovered their composure, the villagers immediately launched rescue and relief efforts and alerted the police.

Driver Flees, Dumper Seized

As soon as word reached them, the Kurai police arrived at the spot and began their investigation. The bodies of the deceased were taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. After the collision, the dumper's driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. Police have seized the dumper and intensified their search for the absconding driver. Preliminary inquiry points to excessive speed and the driver losing control of the vehicle as the cause, though police say they are examining every angle of the case. According to officials, the fugitive driver will soon be arrested and legal action taken against him.

A Village in Mourning, Families Demand Action

Having lost three young men in a single accident, the entire village of Sarrahirri has plunged into deep mourning. The grief-stricken families are inconsolable, as though a mountain of sorrow has crashed down on them. The villagers have urged the administration to take strict action against the guilty driver and to provide proper assistance to the affected families. For now, the police remain engaged in the investigation, and the hunt for the absconding driver continues.
