The Aam Aadmi Party has used the social media platform X to announce a significant update about the well-known Kali Mata temple in Patiala. According to the party, the historic shrine is being given a fresh look, with its overall appearance set to become far grander than before.
What Is Changing at the Temple
The post states that the Kali Mata temple is being reconstructed on a large scale, alongside a beautification of the premises aimed at giving worshippers better facilities and a more welcoming setting. The work is described as going well beyond ordinary repairs, reshaping the entire structure of the temple.
When the Work Will Be Done
The party has said that all development work connected to the temple will be completed by September. From October onwards, people will be able to visit the temple with their families for darshan. The message was issued in the name of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, inviting the public to come for darshan.
Public Reaction
The post drew mixed responses online as soon as it appeared. While some users welcomed the initiative, many others raised pointed questions, asking whether the move was timed with upcoming elections in mind. A number of people also argued that the government should be spending on basic needs such as food, clothing and housing, and on public services, rather than on building temples.
