Defence Minister Rajnath Singh marked International Day of Yoga by joining nearly 1,000 soldiers for a yoga session at the Eastern Air Command headquarters in Shillong. A large gathering of soldiers took part in the event organised at the Air Force's Eastern Air Command headquarters. Rajnath Singh himself was seen performing yoga asanas alongside the personnel. According to news reports, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma also joined the event. The Shillong programme was part of a wider celebration by the armed forces across India, with soldiers, airmen and sailors performing yoga at locations ranging from northeastern cities like Shillong to naval personnel out at sea.
