AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has once again weighed in sharply on international affairs. Speaking in Hyderabad, he laid the blame for the world's current economic instability squarely on two men — US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to him, the policies of these two leaders are precisely what is hurting the wallets of ordinary people.
Who Owaisi Held Responsible
Owaisi was blunt in his assessment. "Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu are responsible for the economic turmoil the world is facing right now. The big crisis that has emerged in oil and gas — for that too, Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu are responsible," he said. In his view, the hand of these same two figures lies behind the disruption of economic balance as well.
The AIMIM leader stressed that the moment had arrived for both of them to halt their destructive activities. He demanded that the two stop the war without delay, pointing out that they were the ones who had started it in the first place.
The Toll on Common People
Owaisi underlined that the fallout of this confrontation is not confined to any single country but is being borne by the entire world. Millions — indeed crores — of people across the globe, including in India, are grappling with economic hardship, he said, and these two individuals are the reason.
An Appeal to PM Modi
Turning to the Indian leadership, Owaisi addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly. "I appeal to PM Modi to strongly condemn what Netanyahu is doing at this time," he said. At the same time, he questioned New Delhi's stance, recalling that PM Modi had stood in Israel's parliament and declared that India stands with Israel. Owaisi reiterated that alongside Trump, Israel is equally responsible for creating all of these problems.
The Backdrop of US-Iran Tensions
It is worth noting that the United States, Israel and Iran have been locked in confrontation for a long time. On several occasions, steps were taken toward an agreement between the US and Iran to ease tensions, but the talks never reached a final conclusion.
A development on Friday, however, raised hopes. Officials from both Iran and the United States indicated that a deal to end the war in the Middle East is now closer than ever before. This has fuelled expectations that a resolution to the tensions could soon be found by both sides.
Clarifying the 'Concession' Reports
Also on Friday, the United States pushed back against reports claiming it had granted Iran a major concession, calling such claims baseless. It clarified that the terms of the agreement have been framed in such a way that Tehran will receive economic benefits only if it stands firm on its commitments and follows through on them.
