Crores Looted From Rajasthan's RGHS Health Scheme: SOG Arrests Three More From Sikar Lab, Remand Till June 16

Investigators probing a roughly Rs 4 crore fraud in the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme have arrested three more employees linked to a Sikar diagnostic centre. All three have been sent to police remand until June 16, 2026 as the hunt for the wider network continues.

A sprawling web of fraud is unravelling inside the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS), one of the state's flagship health programmes. In its latest move, the Special Operation Group (SOG) has put three more people behind bars in connection with the case. The probe so far points to a scam of around Rs 4 crore — and officials suspect that figure could climb higher as more layers of the network come to light.

How the Probe Began

The Bhajan Lal Sharma government has projected a 'zero tolerance' stance on corruption, and under that line it has been tightening the screws on bogus claims, unnecessary tests and the misuse of public money within RGHS. This particular case, rooted in Sikar district, is part of that drive, with the responsibility for cracking it open handed to the SOG.

Patients on Paper, Real Money From the Treasury

The picture that has emerged is a troubling one. According to the investigation, a group of doctors and lab operators allegedly used the Dr. Vijay & B Lal Diagnostic Centre in Sikar as a front to milk the RGHS scheme. The method was brazen — fake OPD slips were generated in the names of patients who were never even examined, needless tests were prescribed, and fabricated test reports were drawn up and uploaded to the RGHS portal. On the strength of these forged records, payments running into crores were extracted from the state government.

First Two, Now Three More

Lab operator Banwari Lal alias B Lal and Dr. Kamal Kumar Agarwal had already been arrested in the racket. Taking the case forward, the SOG has now also detained three of the lab's employees — Bajrang Singh, Arvind Kumar Sheela and Vikram Kalyan. The agency says the trio played an active role in collecting card numbers of RGHS beneficiaries, getting fake slips prepared and routing them to the doctors — in effect, the hands that kept the fraud machinery running.

All three accused were produced in court, which sent them to police remand until June 16, 2026. During this period the SOG plans to dig into how far the racket's roots stretch — the trail of fake payments, the movement of money, and the identities of other possible players involved.

Property Seizure on the Cards

SOG officials say that any other doctors, lab operators or staff whose names surface during the probe will face equally tough action. If the situation demands, the process of seizing the movable and immovable property of the accused could also be set in motion.

A Warning for Beneficiaries

Amid the case, the state government has urged RGHS beneficiaries to stay alert. People have been advised not to hand their card or its linked details to anyone, and to personally cross-check the slips and bills issued after treatment and tests — so that any misuse in their name can be caught in time.
